Relaxing Days in Krabi

September 30, 2014 | |

It is unbelievable that these pictures were taken more than one year ago. The first time we step foot on Thai soil. After some days checking out our new "hometown" Bangkok, we needed some time on the beach to figure out the meaningful life decision of a move overseas. We flew from Bangkok Don Muaeng Airport (smaller one for domestic flights) to the peninsular Krabi at the Andaman Sea. We indulged with the Sheraton Beach Resort which was not that pricey because it was low season in May. It was tropical paradise. There are a few essentials throughout the day which belong for me to a good relaxation and are simply necessary to leave all worries behind.

Start your relaxing days right with a tasty choice from the incredible large buffet in your hotel. Everything what the belly asks for - fruits, cereals, bread, eggs, pancakes. Yum! Enjoy every bite with an amazing view of the garden and the blue stripe of the sea in the back.

Breakfast for champions

What a view!

No inner peace without a long white sandy beach remote from civilization. Picking up washed ashore shells, lying on sunbeds, reading a thrilling pageturner, walking along the beach holding hands. The picture-perfect holidays (maybe that explains why the place was packed with honeymooners).

Waves after waves

Look who pokes the seacrabs holes!
In the afternoon clouds darkened the sky and we could already feel it would rain soon. That is when you rather stay close to the hotel to have shelter when it really starts pouring. By the way, the huge pool of the Sheraton has built-in barstools. How cool is that? You can sip your fresh coconut while sitting in the cool water and having the warm sun burning on your back (given that she shows up).

Loved these showers!
Um, beach 0 pool 1.
At the end of such a day full of pampering and total relaxation, what could make the grand finale? A sunset at the beach of course. The scenery was so serene and peaceful. The perfect ending for a perfect day.

See, my love is also a yogi.

Can you ever have enough chilling? Some whould say no but I have to admit that after a few days we got bored out. We got what you can call a cabin fever. Beach, pool, hotel. Repeat. That is just not us. I can have that for a limited time but look below what happens after a while. I draw my boyfriends toes. That is when you realize that things get serious. Look out this space here to see how we solved our luxury #firstworldproblem in Krabi in the second part. There are no holidays without a little action. Beach holidays fair enough but we are adventure-seekers at the bottom of our hearts.

Holiday shenanigans

  1. I've heard about Krabi from a lot of people but I've never been myself. It looks lovely.
